Kylie Minogue does a Carla and gets a chic new haircut

Kylie Minogue appears to be enjoying the Parisian lifestyle as she was spotted sporting a chic new hairdo.

The Australian singer had her long hair cut into a shoulder-length, shiny and bouncing bob - and looked every inch as stylish as French first lady Carla Bruni.
Kylie even appeared to have the warm, coppery tones of Ms Bruni's style in recent weeks. And both have the same swept-off-the-face look and glowing skin.

Kylie, who spent a large amount of time in Paris during her four-year romance with French actor Olivier Martinez, looked thrilled with the new cut as she left the Meurice Hotel, constantly running her hands through the style.

It took years off the 41-year-old, and revamped her cute but simple cheesecloth dress, which had looked almost drab before the cut, when she had her hair scraped into a tight ponytail.

But with her fresh locks, Kylie, who teamed the look with pink gladiator heels, Ray Ban sunglasses, a gold statement necklace and grey handbag, looked set to give any Parisian woman a run for her money.

And the casual look was a marked improvement on the shapeless outfit she wore the previous day. The singer took a fashion risk, but unfortunately, it didn't quite pay off.

The loose-fitting red V-neck top, draped with floor-length tails, swamped her petite figure. And the black mid-length skirt did her no favours either.
The Australian pop star was visiting the Paris studio of her designer friend Jean-Paul Gaultier to discuss costumes for her first American tour, which starts in September.

While Kylie was undoubtedly bang on trend with her choice of colours, the fabric and cut were just too baggy for her petite 5ft frame, despite claims that the outfit had been specially customised for her.

Kylie herself seemed perfectly at ease with her choice. Stepping outside Gaultier's Creator studio, she showed it off to photographers by twirling the top's trailing tails.

She is teaming up with Gaultier - and Italian duo Dolce & Gabbana - to create costumes for her nine-date tour. Gaultier was behind the stage costumes for last year's KylieX shows.

Earlier this month, Kylie was spotted sitting in the front row of the French designer's autumn/winter '09 fashion show in Paris.

She paid homage to his style by wearing a vintage JPG black lace cone bra dress.
The singer's For You, For Me tour will start in Oakland, California on September 30 and end in New York City on October 13.

It is her first U.S. tour after years spent trying to convince her manager to let her perform in the States. She said earlier this year: 'Financially, it made absolutely zero sense.

'Last year, I spent so long touring. And I’ve had a great time, and I have a band I’m just loving - we’re really just vibing. So, it felt like it was now or never. I’m absolutely thrilled and amazed at the response so far.'

On Tuesday, Kylie cut a much more flattering figure in a pretty monochrome dress. The star looked chic in the fitted dress and the same peep-toe black lace-up heels she was wearing last night as she lunched in the St Michel area of the French capital.(dailymail.co.uk)
