3 Reasons Why Robin Hood Ala Russell Crowe So Interesting

Already more than 50 times the British folklore 'Robin Hood' was adapted into film and television series since the 1900s. Then, what makes the 'Robin Hood' claim Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe is a film that must be seen.

Collaboration Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe

Previously, we've seen the success of Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe through the 'Gladiator' in 2000. Quality, Scott's film that one did not need to doubt. 'Gladiator' was awarded Best Film at the Academy Awards arena 73. The film that managed to reap revenues of U.S. $ 457 million was also brought Crowe won his first Oscar.

It seemed, the above could be the main reason why we should not miss 'Robin Hood'. Similarly, like why we have witnessed collaboration Tim Burton and Johnny Depp in 'Alice in Wonderland' or beautiful duet Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, ‘Shutter Island ‘.

A More Complex Story

Although less has got positive response from film critics, as compared with the 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' starring Kevin Costner, 'Robin Hood' is more show the story of Scott's work more complex and murky. Not just action, Scott gives the spices a bit of politics, even about feminism in this film.

In previous films, the rooster of arrows that appear more often with a flamboyant image. This time, Crowe could present the other side of Robin Hood, Robin is a strong and encouraging democracy.

Actor and Supporting Actress Qualified

Besides Russell Crowe, 'Robin Hood' also starred actress Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, Mark Strong, and Oscar Isaac who acted as King John of England. Reportedly, Cate is the last choice of Scott to portray the character of Lady Marion. Previously, the characters are first offered to Scarlett Johansson, Emily Blunt, Angelina Jolie, Zooey Deschanel and Natalie Portman. They can not accept Scott's bid because there are no matches scheduled.

Well, how? What still needs another reason to make you rush to see 'Robin Hood'?

"Agora" Film: Ballad of the First Women Philosopher

"Synesius, you do not question what you believe. I have to question" (Hypatia, Agora, 2009)

History is like a spiral: it is always repeated but always forward. Agora, Alejandro Amenabar recent work ('The Others' and 'Sea Inside') proves it: the phenomenon of violence in the name of religion, authoritarian and totalitarian that apply, and ultimately the destruction of science and humanity.

The story focuses on Hypatia (played brilliantly by Rachel Weisz, who was conceived by the director since the development of the scenario), the first woman philosopher in history who taught philosophy, mathematics, and astronomy in Alexandria, Egypt now under the Roman empire. She has a tremendous passion for philosophy, science, and equal rights. All-male student and later, some have important positions.

Then there came the "owner of the truth": the Christians who began to move to spread the dogma. In the name of God, they attack other beliefs, the pagan and Jewish, with blindly. For them, everyone should accept their version of truth, and there is no other possibility.

So, open-minded, tolerant, and coexist closed already. No more the spirit of mutual deserved and respect for other beliefs. And for those who already surf the internet, will know that Hypatia will end tragically.

In the matter of "the owner of the truth" who impose their own truth, we can easily replace the “Christian” with any other ideology, whatever it is: Islam, Judaism, Zionism, Communism, Fascism. All of the totalitarian and authoritarian, and all ideologies that puberty, from the far left, far right, even the most middle! We can also change the context with the present, or at any age.

Any distinctions between the characters so sharply. Hypatia was so in love with science; the Christians burning books “infidels”, something we also see in 'Dances with Wolves' or 'Destiny' (an Egyptian movie about Ibnu Rusyd). And of course, the fact that she is a woman in the soul era who believed that women were only half of men, it is very difficult for him.

During the nearly 130 minutes, Amenabar is able to make-believe world of Egypt in their 4th century BC with a pretty convincing. Of course, the film is embellished by a triangle love story, between Hypatia with the nobility of his student (Orestes) and slave (Davus). And let us return to those days, and accept whatever naivete very modern at the time, such as the belief that the earth was the center of the galaxy.

"Kick-Ass" Movie Review: The Good & The Bad

Critics are debating the genre of "Kick-Ass," some calling it a super-cool comic-book adaptation, that is not meant for serious viewing, some calling the move disturbingly violent and dehumanizing for putting an 11-year-old girl in the middle of violence.

So lets get on with "Kick-Ass" review. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the movie satirizes and worships superhero conventions. The movie is either extremely cool or extremely disturbing.

Aaron Johnson is in the role of the title hero named Dave Lizewski. He is a nerdy high-school kid who dreams of becoming a superhero someday. Lizewski buys a wet suit with a mask and starts training to become a superhero and fight crime. He starts disastrously by getting stabbed and hitting a car. After coming out of hospital, the hero loses his pain receptors deadened and his broken bones held together with "more metal in me than Wolverine."

But, he continued fighting street criminals and soon becomes a YouTube sensation. His crush, Katie (played by petite Lyndsy Fonseca), thinks he's gay and wises to become Lizewski’s new best friend. Nicolas Cage, who has played the role of a Batman-like vigilante called Big Daddy, becomes interested in Kick-Ass' exploits and sends his young daughter Hit Girl (played by Chloe Grace Moretz), to fight some drug dealers, who are planning to kill Kick-Ass.

A crime boss (Mark Strong) also wants to kill Kick-Ass. Boss's son (Christopher Mintz-Plesse) devises a superhero persona named Red Mist to kill Kick-Ass into an ambush. The crime boss is also seeking vengeance against Big Daddy is seeking vengeance.

The movie has some disturbing scenes between Big Daddy and Hit Girl. Action is good. Moretz has acted well.

"Date Night" Movie: Leave With a Smile Hot Foto Picture

"Date Night", the latest room-com in American theatres has a oft repeated story line mild mannered out of towners mugged by big city chaos.

However, “Date Night" movie manages to deviate from the run of the mill stuff in spite of a fairly stale storyline and an overlong car chase.

While story might be dated the script and the cast make it saleable and thus makes it watchable. But what is eminent that the star cast of Steve Carell and Tina Fay adds the zing to the movie. Phil and Claire Foster( Steve and Tina) play a suburban New Jersey couple , Steve an accountant and Tina a real estate agent whose marriage lacks the spirit specially with two hyper demanding kids.

They attempt to bring the zing back in their lives by going for weekly date nights at a dull local steakhouse.

When none of these work, Phil decides to change things by driving to nearby Manhattan for a big town night out at a trendy sea food joint. This food joint turns out to be one of the high society ones and since they reached without reservations they are made to wait. Soon they notice that a table is called for a couple, the Tripplehorns and when there is no response they pretend to the Tripplehorns.

What seems to be good idea turns out to be a bad one soon as they find out. They are soon accosted by a pair of thugs who ask for the flash drive that they had apparently stolen from a local crime boss Miletto (Ray Liotta) and while they manage to escape from the clutches of the thugs they manage to find their way to the swank condo of one of Claire old real estate clients’ condo, a high tech security expert named Holbrooke(Mark Wahlberg).

Holbroke agrees to help the Fosters track down the Tripplehorns; Meanwhile a small time drug dealer named taste (James Franco) and his stripper girlfriend Whippit (Mila Kunis) also have similar problems like that of the Fosters. Next the fosters visit Peppermint Hippo the strip club where Whippit works and Miletto keeps his money.

The movie has wonderful comic moments which make it sustainable. Credit must be given to director Shawn Levy for setting up such comic moments in the movie and gives the much needed pace and life to the movie. The movie has its moments of pleasant mischief in spite of not so great screenplay by Josh Klausner. This is a movie that makes you leave the theatres with a smile on your lips.
